Vern Hockney has tried his hand at a little bit of  everything, ranging from  journalism to serving in the military. Feeling that there was another way to speak what was on his mind, he looked to art as another outlet. Many of Hockney's pieces are political in nature exploring themes and concepts such as the military, the flag, sexuality, and nature.

Hockney is still experimenting with what direction to take his artwork. His artwork ranges from photography, film, printmaking and performance art.
