ArtWorks, a non-profit art organization in Cincinnati, Ohio founded in 1996, focuses it's energy on bringing together professional artists and teenage artists to create art for the community. This summer, ArtWorks along with a partnership with Art Machine, Inc. have teamed up to create a mural in Newport's business district. This project is the first ArtWorks mural to be constructed in Campbell County Kentucky.
Work on the mural, located at 1023 Monmouth Street, is under way. With a team including lead artist, Kyle Penunuri, 8 apprentices and 1 teaching artist, the mural is set for completion on July 29th and an unveiling party scheduled from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m that same evening.
